Dungeon Lootr Challenge Dungeon Guide

Wave mode explained: the 10-wave boss cadence, official material drop rates, milestone rules, and the Unrestricted fragment farm.

Challenge Dungeon is the second official challenge mode: a wave-based endurance format where a boss spawns every 10 waves. Community runs have documented progress past wave 250 (the floor-250 milestone pays 35 Aspect Gems), and it is the primary source of the endgame's crafting materials.

How it works

  • Waves of enemies; a boss every 10th wave.
  • Unlocks around player level 55 (community-reported; the game doesn't print it).
  • Skip Tickets (earned from this mode's rewards and chests) also work in Boss Rush — using them forfeits leaderboard placement in both modes (official rule).
  • Your highest wave still counts toward milestone rewards if you disconnect (official rule).
  • The exact wave scaling formula is not published. No source documents an entry-ticket cost for this mode — Boss Rush is the mode that costs tickets, and this mode is where those tickets come from.

Official drop rates (developer changelog)

Rate provenance matters — these are from the developer's log and bound to this mode:

  • Exotic Essence: 30% per boss kill
  • Exotic Ore: 35% from the Scarlet Knight (Igris) at wave 30+

Community-reported for this mode: Heavenly Fragment ~5% per boss kill. (The official 15% Heavenly Fragment figure applies to Boss Rush boss kills — a different route, not an update of this one.)

Wave rewards also include Aspect Gems, Boss Rush tickets, Protection Scrolls and Skip Tickets.

Why you're really here: Heavenly Fragments

Ten Heavenly Fragments are one of the four requirements for the Unrestricted quest. Two documented routes: ~5% per Challenge Dungeon boss here (community estimate), or 15% per Boss Rush boss (official changelog). At 5% with a boss every 10 waves, expect roughly 200 boss kills on average for ten fragments — use the Farm Planner with whichever route and rate you trust, and remember the binomial math: "average" and "guaranteed" are different things.

Material routing

Two endgame materials have dual routes with different rates — don't mix them up:

  • Exotic Essence: 30% per Challenge boss here (official), or 5% per Underworld Gate Nightmare completion (official, different route). This mode wins.
  • Exotic Ore: 35% from the wave-30+ Scarlet Knight here (official), or 15% from Underworld Gate Nightmare (community figure). This mode wins again — if you can reach wave 30+.

Sources disagree about which boss appears where (Igris appears in both Challenge Dungeon and Underworld Gate reports across wikis), so verify in-game which secret boss your route actually offers.

Builds for wave content

Wave mode rewards sustained AoE and cooldown management over burst windows:

Milestone strategy

Milestones pay out on your new highest wave (official). That makes first-push strategy simple: push as deep as possible once, bank the milestone, then farm a comfortable wave band (30+ for the Scarlet Knight materials) repeatedly.
